Forest renewal cutbacks hit wildlife impact studies
Forest renewal cutbacks hit wildlife impact studies Cutbacks to the budget of Forest Renewal B.C.
(FRBC) will result in less funding for research into the impact of
logging on wildlife habitat. The annual cutbacks exceed $200
million this year alone. FRBC spokespeople say that they will now
concentrate their spending on value-added industries, forestry
communities in crisis, silviculture, watershed restoration and
inventories, rather than on forestry impact studies. 8 FEBRUARY 1999
