When a female seahorse is ready to lay her eggs, she squirts as many as 600 eggs into the male's pouch. The male provides the eggs with all the oxygen and nutrients. Six weeks later he delivers young by shooting them out of his pouch.
Tree-cutting decision soon
Tree-cutting decision soon The judge whose decision will affect the fate of
numerous trees in Point Pleasant Park, Halifax, said today that he
will make his decision on whether to stop the tree felling as soon
as he possibly could. Trees in the park are being cut down due to
their infestation by the tree-killing beetle, the brown spruce
longhorn beetle. A group opposed to the tree cutting is demanding a
court injunction to stop the felling of more trees, which are being
cut down at the rate of 125 a day. 15 AUGUST 2000
