New research indicates that eating as little as half a clove of raw garlic a day may help to prevent bowel cancer. Scientists found that a substance in garlic called Diallyl disulfide" is effective in guarding against bowel cancer. To receive this benefit from cooked garlic, you'd need to eat nine times as much.
