Echinacea on trial
Echinacea on trial The University of Alberta is conducting a
year-long study into the therapeutic value of echinacea. Many
people believe in the cold-fighting powers of echinacea, also known
as purple coneflower. However, there is still no scientific
research to prove that echinacea improves the immune system. Tapan
Basu, the leading researcher, hopes that this study will prove
whether the plant is really effective in fighting off
colds. JANUARY 20, 2001
