Echinacea on trial
The University of Alberta is conducting a year-long study into the therapeutic value of echinacea. Many people believe in the cold-fighting powers of echinacea, also known as purple coneflower. However, there is still no scientific research to prove that echinacea improves the immune system. Tapan Basu, the leading researcher, hopes that this study will prove whether the plant is really effective in fighting off colds.
