A new virus which is killing people in Malaysia has stumped virologists. Scientists do not know what the virus is or how it is spread but believe that it is transmitted somehow from pigs to humans as all of the victims to date have been workers on pig farms. Its symptoms resemble a known but very rare virus called "Hendra virus". The Hendra virus first appeared in Australia in 1994.
