Scientists in the U.S. are attempting to clone Rhesus monkeys in order to create a supply of genetically identical animals for use in research. Since primates are so genetically similar to humans, a large supply of Rhesus monkeys could be an important boost for medical research. However, it could still be a number of years before scientists successfully clone a Rhesus monkey.
