Study links cold sores to risk of heart disease
Study links cold sores to risk of heart disease A new study has shown that people who suffer from
cold sores are twice as likely to die from heart disease as those
who never suffer from cold sores. Those who have been exposed to a
common form of pneumonia early in life also have a greater risk of
heart attack later on in life. This study adds weight to the "new
germ theory", which suggests that heart disease and other chronic
diseases are linked to infections, not just heredity and
lifestyle. NOVEMBER 7, 2000
