Taxol from hazelnuts
A researcher from the University of Portland in Oregon has discovered the cancer drug "taxol" in hazelnuts. Taxol was first found in the Pacific yew tree, but as the number of trees decline, new sources of the drug are needed. Taxol is widely used for breast and ovarian cancers.
