Getting back to our routes
A new theory regarding the evolution of chimpanzees, gorillas and humans suggests that only one ape species migrated from Africa to Eurasia and evolved into the common ancestor of hominids, then returned to Africa. This contradicts the majority of existing theories, which involve at least six migrations of ape species out of Africa, where most species then became extinct.
