million commercial hives in North America and these produce around
90 million kilograms of honey each year. Bees must be carefully
handled so that they don't sting. Slow, careful movements are
required. Some beekeepers are interested in bee behaviour. They
keep their bees in glass-walled hives, where they can study bee
interactions, dances and social life. The products of bees are used
widely every day. Honey is used in many baked items such as
crackers, cookies and cakes. Beeswax is also frequently used in
household products. For instance, it is used in candles, lipsticks
