Tarantulas are very strong spiders. They pounce on their prey and hold it still with their legs while their fangs inject poison. The poison paralyzes the prey and a special fluid from the spider's stomach digests the soft parts. The spider then sucks up the insides of its victim's body.

Researchers have found that a fungus which usually grows on tomato juice will also act as a herbicide on a weed that is a serious problem for European farmers. However, spores of the fungus must be sprayed on the weed at a specific point in its development for the fungus to be an effective herbicide.
