When ice covers lakes, there is less oxygen to breathe, and most fish sink to the bottom. They remain very quiet but awake. Carp, however, flap their tails to cover themselves with mud and they go to sleep. When the lake ice melts and the oxygen levels rise they awaken.
This car runs on air...imagine!
This car runs on air...imagine! Guy Negre, the former Formula 1 race-car engineer,
has invented a car that uses nothing but compressed air for power.
The "E.volution" costs less than 1 cent a kilometre to operate and
can reach a speed of up to 130 km/h. The car runs out of power
after about 200 kilometres, but it can be plugged in for a few
hours to recharge the air tanks. The first batch of air cars will
be built and sold in France later on this year. Nineteen other
factories around the world will also build the air car in the near
future. OCTOBER 27, 2000
