The arctic tern carries out the longest migration of any creature on Earth a journey of more than 36,000 kilometres (or 22,000 miles) from the Arctic to the Antarctic and back again, each year!
Tequila sunset
Tequila sunset Tequila is running dry as the demand for popular
drink soars. Tequila is a distilled spirit made from the agave
plant, which takes eight to ten years to mature. The increased
demand, along with a fungus that hit Mexico's blue agave, is
depleting the world's supply of tequila. The slow growth of the
agave makes a quick recovery of the population and over-harvesting
impossible. It looks like the world will just be short of tequila
for at least a decade! MAY 19, 2001
