The Eden project: a living theatre

The Eden project: a living theatre
The Eden project is a vast horticultural 'theme-park' in Cornwall. Eden is made up of eight huge panelled domed greenhouses that will form two biomes and contain over 80 000 plants from all over the world. The largest biome is called 'Humid Tropics' and will recreate four climatic regions: Amazonian, Oceanic, Malaysia and West Africa. The smaller biome is 'Warm Temperate' and will recreate the Mediterranean, South Africa and California. An outside section is the Temperate Region and will have plants from countries including China, Japan, New Zealand, the US and Chile. The Eden project was designed to be a living museum and education centre, and cost around $175 million Cdn.
