Spiders that hunt at night often have a special layer at the back of their big eyes. It acts like a mirror to bounce light back into the eyes. On a dark night, this reflected light makes the spider's eyes seem to glow!

A new survey has found that levels of heavy metals dissolved in water around the piles of debris piled on the sea bed near oil rigs exceed environmental safety limits. The heavy metals are leaching out of the piles of waste, which had previously been assumed to be safe.
