Manure tagged as source of Fraser Valley pollution
Scientists from Environment Canada have discovered that the white haze often found hanging over the Fraser Valley in B.C. is caused when ammonia, from manure, rises into the air and mixes with other pollutants. The haze is thought to have contributed to respiratory problems in the valley, particularly in children, and Environment Canada is working with farmers to find ways of solving the problem.
