A class frog has a see-through belly. It lays its eggs on leaves hanging over a stream. The tadpoles fall straight into the water when they hatch.
Pollution 'steals' rain
Pollution 'steals' rain A professor from the University of Colorado who
has been studying polluted clouds reports that these clouds contain
aerosols which shut off the ability of the cloud to rain or snow.
Professor Owen Toon has been investigating clouds through
instruments aboard satellites and his research shows that tiny
pollution particles trap and retain moisture rather than allowing
it to form a raindrop or snowflake and fall to Earth. Other studies
which have been conducted over a lead-smelting operation in Canada,
some cities in Turkey and over industrial areas in Australia have
found the same results. 16 MARCH 2000
