Pollution is killing coral: scientists

Pollution is killing coral: scientists
Approximately 25 per cent of the world’s coral reefs have been destroyed by pollution and global warming. Unless urgent action is taken, most of the remaining reefs could be dead in 20 years. In some of the worst hit areas, such as the Seychelles and the Maldives, up to 90 per cent of the coral reefs have been killed over the past 2 years because of rises in water temperature. The loss of coral reefs upsets the balance of marine ecosystems and places thousands of species of fish and other marine life at risk.
