Unfit to eat

Unfit to eat
A new report shows that up to half of the Inuit women in the Canadian Arctic consume toxic pollutants in excess of international safety limits. The toxins are concentrated in the seals, whales and fish that they eat, and the main source of the pollutants is Russia. Russia has not yet signed the UN agreement to reduce emission of organic pollutants. The contaminants are carried to the North by winds and water currents and work their way into the food chain.
