develop accurate five to ten day forecasts are now being imported
into the US. Local weather forecasts rarely predict the weather
beyond five days, unlike in Europe, where ten day forecast are
common. These new computers will be able to handle more satellite
data and to run 50 ten-day weather simulations at once. The
computers had been blocked from import by an anti-dumping complaint
against the Japanese firm by the US computer firm Cray Inc. that
