Freezing future
Scientists have found evidence which suggests that global warming may affect the ocean current known as the North Atlantic Drift, which brings warm water to northwest Europe from the Gulf Stream and sends cold deep water back. This current helps to keep temperatures in northwest Europe up and, if it were to be disturbed, temperatures could drop by 5 degrees celsius or more.
