Orangutans (great apes that live in Sumatra and Borneo) use umbrellas! They pluck big leaves off the trees and hold them over their heads to protect themselves from heavy rainfall.
Huge lake drying up
Huge lake drying up Lake Chad, which is bordered by Cameroon, Chad,
Niger and Nigeria was listed in 1959 as the world's eleventh
largest body of water. Lake Chad is now shrinking and is just a
tenth of its original size. It presently measures just 2,500 square
kilometers and is being taken over by an advance of the Sahara
Desert. The loss of water is devastating to almost 98 million
farmers and it is feared that its disappearance will destroy the
ecological balance of the region.
