Spiders that hunt at night often have a special layer at the back of their big eyes. It acts like a mirror to bounce light back into the eyes. On a dark night, this reflected light makes the spider's eyes seem to glow!
The ice man
The ice man Vostok, the most remote place on earth, holds the
world record for the lowest reported temperature, -89.6 C?.
Researchers have been going to Vostock for over 15 years to study
ice formations which give clues to climate changes over thousands
of years. Using ice cores, the scientists map changes in carbon
dioxide levels over time. Their research has shown that the warming
cycle the Earth is now experiencing is due to increased levels of
carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, levels which have never been seen
