Researchers have found that the number of flying foxes being born with deformities in Queensland, Australia, is increasing. They believe that the deformities are being caused by bats eating foods which have been sprayed with pesticides or which naturally contain chemicals that cause mutations. The flying foxes are eating these different foods because of habitat destruction and forest shrinkage.
