Oymyakon in Siberia is the coldest permanently inhabited town on Earth. In 1964 they recorded a temperature of -71?C (-96?F).

Honey-Locust

The honey-locust tree belongs to a very large family of legumes. Its roots have nodules containing nitrogen-fixing bacteria which enrich the soil. Honey-locust has thorned twigs and bean-like seeds surrounded in a pulpy tissue. The mature bark sometimes displays sword-like thorns. Small mammals and birds eat the fruit.
